These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Contacts mobile application (the "App", package com.bitaura.contacts) provided by Bitaura Technologies ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1.License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on a device you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the app store's terms.
2.Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for the data on your device, including your contacts and call log, and for keeping your own backups.
- You will use the App only for lawful purposes and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations (including those governing calls, messaging, and communications).
- You will not misuse the App to harass, spam, or harm others, or to make unlawful calls or messages.
- You grant the permissions the App requests only as needed for the features you use; you may revoke them at any time in system settings.
3.Acceptable use
You agree not to, and not to attempt to: (a) reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App except as permitted by law; (b) interfere with or disrupt the App or its servers; (c) remove or alter any proprietary notices; or (d) use the App to violate the rights of any third party.
4.Features that depend on your device & system
Some features depend on your device, operating system, carrier, and system roles. For example:
- Making and receiving calls through the App's own call screen, handling incoming calls, deleting call-log entries, and enforcing number blocking require setting Contacts as your default phone app. You can change your default phone app back at any time in system settings; doing so disables those features but the rest of the App keeps working.
- The “Flash on call” feature and contact photos require the Camera permission; flash-on-call only toggles the device torch and captures no images.
- Speed dial, incoming-call styles, and other preferences are stored on your device.
- Writing contacts to a physical SIM card is not supported, because Android reserves this to the system.
- Service/MMI codes (such as
*#06#) are handled only by the system dialer and cannot be run from the App. - The App does not provide caller identification of unknown numbers (there is no server-side directory or spam database).
5.Third-party services and content
The App integrates with third-party services (such as Google Firebase, Google Play Services, your messaging app, and WhatsApp). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services or content.
Advertising
The App is provided free of charge and is supported by advertising (served through Google AdMob and, over time, additional ad networks). Ads are provided by third parties; we do not control and are not responsible for the content of third-party ads or the sites/apps they link to. You agree not to interact with ads fraudulently or in any automated or deceptive way (for example, generating invalid clicks or impressions). How advertising data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy. Where a paid “Remove ads” option is offered and purchased, ads are disabled for your account on that device.
6.Updates
We may release updates, and may require you to install the latest version to continue using certain features for security or compatibility reasons. Updates are distributed through your app store.
7.Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how information is handled.
8.Disclaimer of warranties
9.Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bitaura Technologies and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, calls, messages, or profits, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the App. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
10.Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
11.Changes to these Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12.Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the place of business of Bitaura Technologies, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Courts of competent jurisdiction there will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, unless mandatory local law provides otherwise.
